Transportation Services

Transportation Services provides vehicles that are safe, dependable, and efficient to meet BYU’s needs. We maintain, repair, and replace university vehicles, as required. There are five shops to assist with these university vehicle needs: the Auto & Body Shop, Service Station, Tool Room, Vehicle Rental, and Welding.

Any accidents involving a university vehicle must complete a Driver's Incident Report through the BYU Incident web page.

Auto & Body Shop

We offer motorist assistance for lockouts, jump starts, and flat tires to all university personnel, students, and guests for a nominal fee. Our shop maintains university vehicle and CDL records, as well as Physical Facilities commercial driver records.

When a university vehicle is retired, the Auto & Body Shop provides wrecker services or sends the vehicle to BYU Surplus to be sold as a bid vehicle or a sale vehicle. All surplus cars, trucks, passenger vans, SUV, and commercial-type vehicles are posted on the BYU Surplus web page Friday and close the following Thursday. Any questions regarding surplus vehicles should be directed to BYU Purchasing at 801-422-3872.
