Enhancing a classic

Welcome to the new BYU Creamery on Ninth East (CONE)! The original CONE was purchased from Carson’s Market back in 1999. This building was originally constructed in 1941 and is now 83 years old. Due to the age of the building and many years of great service, the time has come for it to be replaced.

The new CONE will be constructed west of the existing building, allowing the original CONE to stay operational while the new building is built. The new building is designed to be a little larger. This will allow for a better grille and seating area for everyone who loves hamburgers and great BYU ice cream! The additional space also provides two lines to order your favorite BYU ice cream. There will also be an outdoor walk-up window on the south side of the building that will allow patrons to order food directly or enter the building from the outside canopy-covered seating area to order inside. The canopy-covered seating area will feature misters for cooling patrons in the summer and heaters for the winter to create a year-round outdoor dining experience. There will be more food aisles of grocery store foods and more shopper access to stand-up reach-in coolers and freezers with wonderful food products that can be purchased and taken home.

The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on July 12, 2024, and construction is underway. It is anticipated that construction will be completed mid 2025.
