Flooring & Upholstery Shop

Our flooring experts specialize in several materials and use cutting-edge products and procedures to complement our beautiful campus buildings. Flooring works closely with campus planners, designers, contractors, department deans, and supervisors to ensure each installation goes down right. We install and maintain carpet tiles, ceramic tiles, linoleum squares, vinyl squares, and Mondo (track). BYU recycles over 150,000 lbs. of used carpet, preventing 75.92 tons of carpeting materials from being dumped in landfills.

The Upholstery Shop offers countless services to campus areas. We have created many unusual products such as rat harnesses, bug nets, collars for bobcats, cows, bears, and more. Our skilled craftsmen have worked on many other unique projects, such as upholstering temple furniture and making special scripture bags for some general authorities. Our shop has also created the 5’ x 8’ retired jerseys that hang in the Marriott Center rafters and the Y banner that hung from the side of the Tanner Building for years before the new addition.

The Upholstery Shop also offers embroidery services and window covering options such as roller shades, blinds, and drapes. We provide and installs netting, windscreens, covers, and padding all across campus including athletic venues. If it has to do with fabric, flooring, or similar materials, our shop can make almost anything.
