Building Projects, Maintenance, & Transportation Services

Building Projects, Maintenance & Transportation Services (BMTS) is responsible for maintaining over 11 million square feet of building floor space which includes the BYU campus, Missionary Training Center (MTC), and Motion Picture Studio. We support all campus buildings along with providing power generation, heating, and cooling utilities across campus facilities. BMTS provides all service and repairs for a fleet of 2,500 pieces of grounds equipment as well as over 600 vehicles used for vehicle rentals and department use. We employ approximately 270 part-time and student employees with over 190 full and three-quarter-time staff who are tasked with resolving 3,053 work orders and 21,842 service requests per year.
