Ross Schaefer

"This week while in a meeting for events at the Marriot Center, police brought up a safety concern about the ramp on the west side needing to have parts fixed so guests and others using the ramp don't trip or get hurt. The ramp is old and in need of replacement, but something needed to be done ASAP since there would be a Gymnastics meet and basketball games that same week. Police said they would stand on the metal ramp to keep visiting team players, coaches, and refs from tripping as they would leave. I offered to look at it and try to do a quick fix. Realizing it was something Ross needed to fix, a service request was created and taken to Ross. With a small explanation of the problem, Ross had the ramp welded and bad pieces cut out before he went home that same day. Ross was in the middle of some big projects and as always made the time to help solve a problem. Ross is always doing this and is a huge benefit to our Electric shop. He is constantly asked to help weld up broken light poles, weld something for the elevator guys so they can get an elevator up and running in a timely manner, weld strut, and other things to help us with our project on campus. He does this for our shop and others on campus. Glad he's on our team! Thanks Ross!"
