TEAMWORK

"Last summer, our lead arborist, Max Darrington, had a heart attack. As a result, he was sidelined for about 3 weeks. BYU's Grounds department was already understaffed. And losing our lead arborist, when we were already understaffed, was a huge blow.

Brigg Olsen willingly filled in for Max, until Max was able to return to work. And he did a fantastic job. In Max's absence, Brigg oversaw several large tree projects. He was responsible for the training and supervision of multiple crews--in addition to his regular crew. He came into work early and stayed late to get the job done. And he did all this during one of our busiest seasons, when he himself was understaffed, and could have said, "Sorry, I've got my own responsibilities to take care of." But he didn't.

And it is for this reason that I would like to nominate Brigg Olsen for a SAERA Award for outstanding team play."
