Olivia Hales

"The university has been engaged in a major branding project for the last few years, which has involved changing hundreds of logos across campus. But new logos are worth nothing if they aren't used. As a front-line advocate, Olivia Hales in the Sign Shop has been a fantastic partner for Brand & Creative in helping to ensure accountability for effective logo use and in delivering results. She has been conscientious in learning brand guidelines and diligent and committed in monitoring requests for signage to ensure they are following the guidelines. She frequently contacts our office to seek clarification on questions, to ask for approval on logo use, or to request official logo files to use in projects. She has prevented many outdated or unapproved logos from being used. In addition, she proactively reached out to suggest that we create more consistency in campus signage by using the approved BYU typeface. Olivia really could receive this award for teamwork, exceeding expectations, competency, innovation, or any other category. She is a wonderful collaborator, a talented designer, and an efficient and responsible colleague. I am grateful to be able to work with her."
